When a person go for shutdown then he/she want to do it quickly. But in Windows 8 it takes multiple steps. You
have to open the Charms bar >> Settings >> Power and finally
"Shut down". But I have a trick, with this you can create a desktop shortcut that will reduce
these four steps to just one.
How To Pin it To Taskbar:
How To Do This:
- First of all right click on Desktop.
- Choose “New-Shortcut”
- Go to the line labelled “Type the location of the item…”
- Here just type shutdown.exe -s -t 0 and click on "next"
- Give a suitable name like Shutdown and click on "finish".
How To Pin it To Taskbar:
- Just Right-click the shortcut
- And click “Pin to Taskbar”
Note: You can also place the shortcut on the Metro (Modern) interface
How To Place:
- Again for this Right-click the shortcut
- And Click “Pin to Start”
