Twitter is a social
networking service that lets users post short status messages or
"tweets" for the world to see. When a user "mentions" another user --
that is, types the "@" symbol followed immediately by a username -- as
part of a tweet, the mentioned user receives the tweet in his "Mentions"
column on Twitter. If you have registered a mobile phone with Twitter,
you can visit the Settings page to make all future mentions and replies
to you forward to your registered mobile phone.
Open your browser, go to twitter.com. Type your username and password into the boxes near the top-right corner of the Twitter homepage and press "Enter."
Click your username near the top-right corner of the screen and select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
Click "Mobile" in the Settings menu bar.
Click the "Mentions and Replies" box so there is a check mark inside it.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Save" button.
